Ask God to Open Your Heart to Jesus Christ
Week 2
In the previous chapter you read about Lydia. She “worshipped God” but did not know the true God through Jesus Christ. Then “the Lord opened her heart, and she accepted what Paul was saying” (Acts 16:14) about forgiveness forever through faith in Jesus Christ.
If you do not have a personal relationship with Christ, you are encouraged to pray that God would do for you what He did for Lydia. That He would open your heart and remove your spiritual blindness so you can realize who Jesus Christ really is. Then you will have a real and life changing faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.
If you believe God is opening your heart, and you want Jesus to be your Savior and King, then profess the following beliefs to God. They are a summary of the 6 things you must believe about God the Father, yourself, and God the Son to be forgiven forever. You can simply pray to God and tell Him you believe the following:
➊ My sins deserve God’s punishment.
➋ My good deeds cannot pay the penalty for my sin.
➌ God will punish sin because He is holy.
➍ God is willing to forgive sin because He is loving.
➎ Jesus Christ is my only Savior who paid for my sin by dying for them and being raised from the dead.
➏ Jesus Christ is my King and I want to obey His commandments.
► If you have prayed these things and asked Christ to be your Savior and King, please tell your small group when you meet this week or a Christian friend.
